Number of Homes Sold

Number of Homes Sold

In the charts below, we provide data on the number of homes sold each year in the communities we cover. These data can help give you a sense of:

  • How large that housing market is.
  • Whether there are more large homes or more small homes selling there.
  • Whether the number of homes sold is increasing or decreasing.

During the 1990s, sales numbers in many of these communities soared, as new construction expanded the number of homes available. Since 2007, due to the slowed housing market, the number of sales has dropped dramatically, even in areas where prices have been stable or increased.

In an effort to track the impact of this "down market" on sales numbers, we've added charts comparing:

  • Sales numbers for recent years to the period before the downturn (2004-2007).
  • Sales numbers for each quarter of the current year to the years after the downturn.

If you'd prefer to look at these data with a community focus, just the data for Boulder or Arvada for example, go to the section called Data for Each Community.
